Completed the second round game between gqlradio (Sweden) and 135040 (The Ottomans). I won. 2 of my game are both Sweden vs The Ottomans and I m Sweden twice.
I spawn on the jungle tile by banana and citrus. Not a great place for capital, no river and not enough food for a big city. So I decided to go for fast expansion by liberty. I moved my settler on citrus and put down the city. I put down another 4 cities and go for an early archer army. But because of the jungle and forest between Stockholm and Birka, when my army reached the front line, he already put down his second city. I tried sometime to rush the city but failed. Then I prepared myself to mid game. My capital and his second city completed Petra at the same turn but he got it. It hurt a bit. In the mid game, he rushed me as soon as he had janissary. After 5 generals were used, I lost Birka. Still I had slightly higher hammer. Then my spy told me that he was building a navy army, lots of frigate. I decided to defence by cannon and artilery, because I was already behind in navy tech. I built leaning tower of Pisa for great scientist and Oxford University. By the time his navy units attacked my capital, I had wall and castle already. I upgraded the cannon and defenced with it. He nearly got my capital, sieged it down to 1/3 hp. Then I just produced artilery and cavalry, got Birka back before he had artilery, and finally got Istanbul.
I think I won the game because I have higher hammer throughout the game. It was a good game. Thank 135040 for the game.
