Just finished game between khaletski (The Ottomans) and gqlradio (The Netherlands). The Netherlands won. I spawned between the two deer tiles. I moved my settler to hill and bought the deer tile asap to get a quick early growth. My place is suitable for large city and I found enermy quite far away. So I went for tradition. I was lucky about the horses too, 2 in my capital. Khaletski went for liberty and expanded quickly. I built Hanging Garden and after that The Great Library, while he built Pyramids and Stonehenge. When he attacked Sydney, I have a weaker army compared to him, and it's really hard for me to defense Sydney because of the terrain. After he got Sydney, it's hard for me to get Sydney, so I played defensively. I was faster to have crossbowman, but he had a lots of bowmen, which forced me to build crossbowmen for a while and delayed my great wall. He had the great wall 1 turn faster than me, which nearly cost me the game. A lots of great generals were exchanged between Amsterdam and Sydney. He chose great general from liberty and got 1 extra general from honor. I got 1 extra general from honor. I used knights and crossbowmen to defense against crossbowmen. Because of The Great Wall, knights can not retreat properly sometimes. I found musketmen not useful against Great Wall, so I built crossbowmen only. After a while 4 of his generals and 3 of mine is exchanged. Then he failed a move, his general got killed. I managed to put my general down to make 7 of 8 citadels mine. After a few turns, he surrendered. He chose +1 hammer for pantheon, +percentage hammer and +happiness for religion. I chose +10 percent growth. I didn't have a religion. Our production rates were really close early game. He had a lead in production after he got Sydney and founded religion. I had a lead in production after I built workshop and ironwork. And I had the lead in science throughout the game.
